About us

James lane meats

Hi we are Henry and Frances Burrough, our farm is located on the edge of the of the beautiful Black-down hills  at the top of james lane near Yarcombe in East Devon.

We both grew up on dairy farms ,and have extensive experience in agriculture.

Henry studied agriculture at Kingston Maurward college in Dorchester, and has worked on local farms his whole career , as well as working in New zealand for a year dairy farming and conracting .

Frances did an Agri business degree at Harper Adams ,worked in New zealand for 18 months,  as well as working on her parents farm for the last 8 years looking after the dairy herd .

We took on part of Henry's , late Fathers farm in 2021, we started by making silage bales to sell local farmers, and fattening lambs to sell through livestock markets.

At the beginning of 2024 we decided we wanted to make the farm more sustainable and ventured into pig farming as well as the goal to sell our own high quality produce direct to the consumer rather than using commercial outlets, this is how James lane meats was born.

We have a passion for sustainable farming and producing high Quality Outdoor reared pork and lamb with the lowest food miles possible . Our lamb is 100% grass fed and our pigs are Outdoor reared , and get fed Rolled barley from a local farm up the road .

We also have a small flock of laying hens that have access outside all year round.

We supply direct to the consumer , to local pubs and hold a stall at Honiton street market every Saturday .

We offer free delivery for Yarcombe , Dalwood and Stockland areas. We can arrange delivery out of this area for a small fee. Free delivery on orders over £50.
